TAAE'S 2021 Conference!

Virtual Conference February 4 - 5, 2021
Greetings again, TAAE Members.
The final details for the 31st Annual TAAE conference is nearing completion. Please make sure you are marking your calendars and making preparations to join us online this year. We are proud to announce that Mr. Flip Flippen will be the Friday Keynote for the 2021 Virtual Conference. For the past 25 years, countless school districts in Texas have utilized Flippen’s Capturing Kids Heart Program. Mr. Flippen is the Founder and Chairman of The Flippen Group. “If you have a child’s heart, you have their mind” is Mr. Flip Flippen’s core belief.
Two additional speakers added to the final conference day are Mrs. Mary Scott, with the Texas Education Agency and The Law Dawg, Mr. Jim Walsh. Ms. Scott will share information regarding student discipline policies, procedures, and corresponding data reporting requirements. Mr. Jim Walsh, acclaimed as The Law Dawg here in Texas will complete the schedule lineup for Friday, Feb 5, 2021. Many of you may have recently heard Mr. Walsh at the Law Conference held online this summer. He will enlighten us on Chapter 37 and some new changes since COVID-19 dealing with teaching, instruction planning, and holding meetings. Both of these additional speakers will share a wealth of knowledge and pertinent information you will be able to not only share but also use at your place of employment.
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Manny Scott will be our second keynote speaker for Friday, February 5, 2021. Manny Scott’s teenage life was portrayed in the hit movie Freedom Writers. Manny Scott, an original freedom writer himself has energized more than two million educators, students, and leaders worldwide with his authentic, inspiring messages of hope. Even on your worst day, you can be a student’s best hope is Manny’s motto and purpose. He inspires and excites. His past is the reason why he travels and speaks over 285 says a year all over the country at schools and associations to help instill life-changing principles and practices to connect with students.
Finally, this year’s theme, “Meeting the Challenges of Today for the Success of Tomorrow, ” is relevant and specific to our current situation in Texas. We are being met with a challenge we neither anticipated nor imagined during our careers. Together, we will address this matter and lead with support and confidence that we are equipping our attendees with information and tools to help them overcome obstacles and shape the future. Please continue to stay safe and take all precautions necessary provided by the CDC guidelines and your local officials such as mandatory masks in public. Please check back for further updates.
